Moved over to GoDaddy

Hooray, the Objectivist Theatre Company site is moved over to a proper domain name now! After a bit of fussing with Go Daddy’s MySQL and FTP settings, I got it to work. Then, a bit of this in the stub files at took care of the new location:
$redirect = 'Location:';
if($_SERVER['QUERY_STRING']) $redirect .= ‘?’.$_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'];
header(’Status: 301 Moved Permanently’);
header($redirect );
exit(’<h1><a href=”” title=”Objectivist”>The Objectivist Theatre Company</a> has moved!  Please update your bookmarks.  The <a href=”” title=”Objectivist”>New Home</a> is at <a href=”” title=”Objectivist”></a>.</h1>’);

I also posted a call for writers for the Objectivist Theatre Company on various message boards.

This is the message I sent:

The Objectivist Theatre Company is a brand new shining star on the Manhattan theater scene. They do black-box theater with a positive sense of life. They’ve already put on a 4-week run if Ayn Rand’s “The Night of January 16th,” which was fantastically successful. (”Not Guilty” all 12 nights! New York really is a city of indomitable spirit.)

However, unfortunately, there is a great shortage of plays that portray the kind of ideas that the Objectivist Theatre Company stands for. That’s where you come in.

If you’re a playwright, and would like to be a part of this new group, please contact Sarah Zimmitti. You do not have to be in or around New York City to submit a script - you must simply be willing to have your script performed there.

If you know a writer or playwright who might be interested in this movement, please forward this letter to them. We would greatly appreciate it.

Our hope is that, somewhere out there, there is a brilliant playwright trying desparately to find just this sort of theater company. Are you him?

Please note that only scripts that meet certain conditions will be considered. First and foremost, it must express a positive sense of life. While we are very eager for new material, not all submissions will necessarily be accepted. Please contact Sarah Zimmitti for more information, or if you have something that you’d like to get performed.

If you are going to be in or around Manhattan, be sure to check out the Objectivist Theatre Company and see what they’re up to. It’s cheaper than Broadway, and better for your soul, too!

    I just bought a domain with GoDaddy. I have the basic package with PHP and am having one heck of time getting the b2e installer to connect to the database. Any help/tricks you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    The only tricky thing that I found was that your MySQL database name is the same as your MySQL username.

    Other than that, I’d recommend getting with their tech support. There should be a link somewhere once you log in, but you might have to search a bit. Since I’m now with Total Choice Hosting, I obviously think that there are better deals out there ;)
