Here’s how you can automatically receive the abuse updates from b2evolution on a regular basis. It’s a bit of an ugly method, but it works pretty nicely.

  1. Open up a new text file, and type this into it:
    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore" "http://YOUR_B2EVOLUTION_URL/admin/b2antispam.php?log=YOUR_B2EVOLUTION_USERNAME&pwd=YOUR_B2EVOLUTION_PASSWORD&action=poll"
  2. Save the file as b2abuseupdate.bat.
  3. Go to Control Panel > Scheduled Tasks
  4. Create a new Scheduled Task, and point it at the b2abuseupdate.bat.
  5. Set it to run every day at midnight, or some other time that you won’t be bothered.
  6. At the time you set, Internet Explorer will open up, log in, and get the updated list!
